Who it is for
Children from reception and including school year 1. It is the bridge between play and understanding and applying dance technique.
Children still play, but they also start to learn real positions, real names for steps and their first short routines.
What happens in a class
- Warm-up and stretch A proper warm-up, taught as a routine they will come to know by heart.
- First positions Real technique in small doses: positions, posture and pointed toes.
- A routine to music A short dance built up week by week.
- A performance to finish A small show and tell for the parents to see what was learn during the lesson time.
Where it can lead
Ballet, Tap or Jazz & Commercial, and a first medal for those who want one.
